Bloom Nursery & Cafe is a warm and inviting space where nature, community, and fresh flavors come together. Surrounded by greenery, it’s a place to relax, reconnect, and find inspiration—whether you’re sharing brunch with friends, exploring the nursery, or picking up tips for your garden.
I created this project for fun, with Chat GPT being my client! I also used AI to help me create some of the images. I developed a brand identity and applied it to signage, menus, flyers and a website. The tone I strived for was “plant shopping that feels like you’re having a cup of coffee in your grandma’s greenhouse.
Collecting Colours & Textures
I went on a Pinterest deep dive, focusing on things you might find in your grandma’s house or a small town nursery.
Logo Suite
A unique typeface which I incorporated a flower and coffee bean icon into.
Colour Palette
Selected from the mood board and chosen to support the green from plants and the brown from wood that would be found in the nursery aisles.
Typography
A funky font for headings which ties in with the logo suite. A monospaced font for body copy to link to the post card inspiration.
Logo Application
Ojuju typeface and Bloom Maroon stand out when logo and colour palette are combined.
Business Pillar Badges
Nursery, cafe and advice business pillars of the business are visualised by illustration, labels and colour.
Illustrations
Hand drawn, rough illustrations of cafe and nursery items and playful elements to the brand assets.
Photo Treatment
Warm tones with dramatic grain and two-tone images add to the nostalgic feel.
Store Signage
Simple, large logos as detailed signage isn’t required. The large building already communicates the tone and the type of products sold.
Cafe Signage
Mari Gold colour distinguishes the cafe business pillar. Simple design for customers to view menu items clearly.
Menu Design
DL format makes the menu easy to print. Illustrations add playfulness.
Event Flyer
The Hosta Teal colour distinguishes the advice business pillar. The layout of information resembles a postcard.
Website Home Page Design
Grid of quadrilaterals with rounded corners. Content is coloured to align with associated business pillar, whilst maintaining the prominence of the Bloom Maroon colour. The tone of voice is friendly and educational.
